WHAT IS IT ABOUT
Our influence on the youth in their respective schools acts as a gateway into the communities. We have launched, partnered with and implemented many community initiatives which included food gardens which has aided in supplying meals to families within these communities.
Skills development and transfer as well as opportunities for career advancement have all been spin offs of this process. Community ‘change agents’ have been developed through these programs resulting in individuals having greater self-awareness and self-leadership, taking care of their environment and the people therein.
Every Saturday we host approximately 100 young people in our weekly Youth Outreach Program which is run in the community of Toekomsrus. These include life skills, leadership training, childrens literacy, ladies grooming, soccer and dancing programs as well as providing a basic nourishing meal.
We are there to let this community, especially its youth, know that they are seen and heard and also how they can make a positive difference in the upliftment of their community.
